The Quinta has two Family Suites.
The first option is Andorinha, the Quinta's most spacious double, and its attendant very small room, (when we say small we mean miniscule - it's big enough for the bunk bed and not a lot else!), and this is priced the same as "Andorinha as a Honeymoon Suite", (please see above), with either one or two extra beds, depending upon the number of children involved.
This option is ideal for those with younger families as one can shut the door of the private terrace outside and have privacy as well as heightened security for toddlers.
The second option is the two rooms Javali and Borboleta, which interlink through a shared bathroom; these two rooms are larger than our normal double or twin rooms and the bathroom is again larger with both a bath and a separate shower. It also has Disabled Facilities.
Javali has a large double bed while Borboleta has two single beds and a bunk bed as well. These two rooms are again priced the same as "Andorinha as a Honeymoon Suite", (please see above), with either one, two, three or four extra beds, depending upon the number of children involved, making them an affordable option for families in general, but more importantly for thosewith larger or older families as the second room, Borboleta, is larger and, as stated, it has more beds available.

Minimum stay in August is 4 nights and at any other time of the year it’s 2.
Please note that any promotions we may offer from time to time are not concurrent.
Every room price is calculated as being for two people unless otherwise stated. Extra beds on top of this are 25 euros at any time of year (not including cots) and this price is excluded from any special offers that may be promoted from time to time. Obviously if a bedroom has a double bed and an extra bed as standard, (for example Pesca Peixe), the extra bed is only charged if it is filled by a third person. A bunk bed filled by two children counts as two extra beds; with just a single child, surprise surprise, it counts as one ...
The Quinta is not supplied with electricity from the National Grid but makes its own through solar power and a 3 phase generator. The sockets are standard Portuguese 2 pin and provide normal 240 volts. We don't have air conditioning, but all the rooms are insulated and keep cool in the summer. In the winter Andorinha, Abertada and Aguia are centrally heated, the others not. We have small gas heaters for these if they're needed at a cost of 5 euros per night.
All the prices shown above include breakfast and daily cleaning. Wifi is free and the use of the rowing boats, canoes, sailing dinghy, pedaloes and sauna are all included in the price.
Our minimum stay is two nights. Our minimum period during High Season can be higher and it's best to check with us first by simply sending us an email.
A Deposit is needed to reserve any room at the Quinta.
If you email us we'll give you a cheap method or you can pay with PayPal, (via the "Book Online" page of this site), or to our Portuguese account. Please note though that there is an additional 4% Banking Charge when paying via PayPal. There is no charge for payment in euros via bank transfer, (sorry, no cheques), to our Portuguese account. Should you wish to pay to our Portuguese account we will send you the details by email, but please note that if paying to this account from outside the eurozone your own bank may levy a hefty charge so it's best to check first.
The standard deposit is 25% of the accommodation, (with a minimum of the equivalent of 2 night's stay), and 25% of any extras booked. Once paid, this deposit is non-refundable. Cancellations forfeit the full deposit and cancellations within two weeks prior to arrival incur the full cost of the nights or services reserved.
Whilst making every effort to satisfy our guests wishes as regards individual rooms booked at the Quinta, to facilitate the running of the establishment we reserve the right to upgrade or move bookings to an equivalent room at no extra charge.
Please note that our latest check-in time during High Season is 22.00 and at other times of the year it's 21.00.
Under extraordinary circumstances, such as the late arrival of a flight, we can organize someone to stay up for you, but this is charged at 10 euros per hour.
We have a professional chef at all times at the Quinta and can provide all your food while you're here.
The style is "International Home Cooking", i.e. our meals are prepared on site with, as far as possible, local ingredients. There's lashings of it - you won't go hungry - and it's not from packets.
Lunch, (15 euros for adults and 9 for children under 12), is a buffet style eat-all-you-can selection of hot and cold dishes followed by pudding, with water and coffee supplied but other drinks extra; dinner, (22.50 for adults and 15 for children), is a slightly more formal 3 course meal. There is an extensive "ornithological" wine list that compliments the lively conversation around the dinner table!
As we will have cooked a meal for you, please note that there is a charge for meals ordered and then missed.
And last but not least .....
Would you like a free bottle of wine upon arrival?!
Do you or your friends have a blog? If you do and you mention your upcoming holiday along with a link through to any page on our web site then we'll give you a free bottle of wine when you arrive! Not bad, eh?
Just email us with the address for your blog and we'll check and make sure that your bottle of wine is set aside.
