This is the Quinta's NEW website which we've been working hard at introducing for the last few months! We've tried to make it more user-friendly and now include on-line booking and pictures of each of the rooms but if you think that we've missed anything out or indeed have any suggestions or comments to make at all, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us.
It's warm here now and seems years since we saw our last cloud; most days are spent lazing in the lake of course!
This year we've got three new boats which are proving a great hit, two canoes and a trimaran, but they're not ordinary boats at all as they have a Hobie pedal system so if your arms get tired or the wind drops then just sit back and pedal - a lot less work and they suit the lake here admirably. The canoes are included in the price of one's stay, and the trimaran can be rented at a reasonable charge.
We've been hard at work also on installing the latest addition to our electrical system, a new, quieter genny in a purpose built, sound-proofed house. So quiet is it that nobody actually knows when it's working so we've had to install a few automatic lights near the kitchen so we know when it's going!
Also new this year are three new en-suite and centrally heated rooms, which means that we can offer better accommodation during the Spring, Autumn and Winter; for those of you who've been here before, they're part of what used to be the Quinta's Private Side.
I'm sorry to have to tell some past guests that Mr Miguel died in January. His stonework was much admired by everyone and will be his legacy. To take his place in the garden we have a new smile around the place, Dulce. She, along with the ubiquitous Fatima, provide our core staff here this year. Melanie has also joined the team and we believe she enjoys it as much as everyone else! To read how much you should read her poem on our Blog ...
The dogs too have grown in numbers this year ..... we were all sad to say goodbye to Sir Howard last May, it was the passing of an era, but Archie replaced him with a dog of a very similar mentality, Sideways, who is making his presence felt more with each passing day. Recently we had a lovely couple, Miguel and Mara, here on their honeymoon who took them for a "walk" - just look at that water!

Frank was over manning the Quinta's stand at the British Birdwatching Fair last weekend in Rutland with the wonderful help of Michael and Lizzie. We were having a free-to-enter Raffle whose prize was a week's accommodation for two in either a Twin or Double room during low or mid season any time within the next 12 months, (subject of course to availability). We hit our target of 1,000 entries during the three days of the Fair and it was such a success that, instead of giving out one prize as we said at the Fair we've decided to give out two!
