Quinta Features
Here's a new video on Flickr and here' a bigger one on You Tube
, and here's another one on how the Quinta came about.
The Quinta's the home of Frank and Daniela who, along with their family, imbue it with a warmth of traditional hospitality, expertise and informal service.
The Quinta's essence is a small intimate retreat for peace and relaxation. It boasts a blend of traditional hospitality, international home-cooking cuisine and a friendly atmosphere with excellent service. You only have to take a look at the reviews on Tripadvisor or see some quotes from our Guest Book to get a flavour of this.
Set in a beautiful lakeside location, the
Quinta is surrounded by unspoilt countryside with a wide variety of
wildlife and rare birds in its gardens and environs.
Nowadays everyone seems to be conscious of their green credentials and carbon footprint, so it's nice to know that
since its inception
the Quinta has always been this way.
Over 90% of it's energy comes from the sun, both for electricity and water heating, and it has always re-used and re-cycled where appropriate, as well as done its utmost to support the local economy.
In short, the Quinta doesn't just pay lip service to these ideals but takes its responsibilities seriously and works hard to be ecologically conscious,
promoting
as low a carbon footprint as humanly possible. It also works tirelessly towards conserving the local cork oak forests, the "Montados", of southern Portugal. With this in mind it is proud to be a member of "It's a Green, Green World".

The Quinta has
eight double en-suite rooms and two Family Suites. All rooms are cleaned on a daily basis and it has permanent on-site staff to help with any queries and to make a stay here all the more enjoyable.
It has two large drawing rooms with log fires, a sauna, a vine covered terrace and various lawns within the 2 acre garden that drops down towards the water.
Wifi is free, as are the canoes, pedaloes,
a sailing dinghy and the sauna.
Each room is en-suite with views of the garden and lake and most
rooms have a small private terrace.
FOOD!
There is a professional chef at all times
and breakfast, lunch and dinner are available for guests. Much of the excellent home-made food is fresh from the organic garden; honey from the hives on the hillside, free-range eggs from our local chickens, bread baked daily with flour from the local mill and, of course, fish from the lake.
The style is "International Home Cooking", i.e. our
meals are prepared on site with, as far as possible, local ingredients.
There's lashings of it - you won't go hungry - and it's not from
packets.
In the evening an informal but delicious dinner is served where the conversation is lively and entertaining, helped along by the Quinta's "Ornithological" wine list.

There are a variety of speciality courses available, including Birdwatching, Nature Photography and Shiatsu Massage. In the next door village lives the World Wide-mouthed Bass Champion, so Fishing Holidays can also be arranged complete with boats.
The whole Quinta has stunning views over one of Europe's largest and cleanest bodies of fresh water.
It's ideal for Families, as a retreat for Stress relief, for Honeymoon couples and Romantic Rendezvous', as a Company Incentive Destination, for small Special Interest Groups, for rental as a fully catered private villa, (with either three or ten rooms), for Hen parties or private parties in general or as a Film Location.
The Quinta provides a flexible, personalised service, and prides itself on its ability to respond to individual needs. If you've got a query, just send us an email!
